What's Cooking for Iftar?

Eversince my medical leave ended last Thursday, I was really busy and that's the reason why I have not made any posting eversince. Sibuk bangett!! My everyday itinerary would be Office - Rush home - Cook for Iftar. And while in the office I would have to crack my head on what to cook for Iftar. As usual Mak Lang's and Kak Liza's Blog will not only be my inspiration and made my stomach growls too! hehe..Snapped some pictures of what we had for iftar for the last few days. (Well, there are some days where I beli jer kat kedai. Angin malas melanda)

Soup Ball
This is basically a Big Bergedil eaten with chicken soup. I would say it is the easiest but yet very lecehiest. The leceh part is to make the Big Bergedil. I used 10 potatoes to make about 8 medium bergedils. However the taste is soo syiokk when its eaten with lots and lots sambal kicap.

Kentang Boyan
Another simple potato dishes. Boil about 8 potatoes till half cook. Cut into medium cubes. Fry a teaspoonful of blended garlic and 1 tblspoon of grounded dried shrimps for a while. Mix in 4 eggs. Fry till the eggs are half cooked. Put in a dash of salt and pepper and poue in the cube potatoes. Mix it altogether and Walla, its done. Garnish it with fried shallots.

Jemput2 / Cikodok Udang
Basically just like any other jemput2. Flour mix with chopped onions and red chillies. A bit of salt and mix in the udang geragau. I dont know what its called in english..alaa baby shrimps lah.

Mee Soto
I guess everybody would know Mee Soto. Yellow mee or longtong eaten with Chicken soup with small bergedils and sambal kicap.

Ramadhan al Mubaraq

Ramadhan is here again. Every year I am more excited to celebrate Ramadhan rather than Syawal. I am supposed to be back to office after 8 days of Medical Leave. However here I am still at home down with fever. My head really goes THOMP! THOMP!. Headaches, yes a bad headache due to the healing process. That was what the doctor said yesterday.

Went to the hospital to removed the wisdom tooth stitches. All went fine, stitches were dry and removed but the pain is still there! My goodness, I was not feeling well all the way from home to the hospital. Tripped and fell at the stairs. Everything is just not right. The world around me seems spinning. Im feeling drowsy.

Consulted the doctor about it and she said its normal. Its the healing process. As I have not been eating well (porridge for 8 days), poor appetite, pain killers 2x a day, all these contribute to the reason why I am feeling light, giddy and nausea. And today I have to take leave due to my fever.

Forced myself to wake up, bath and be strong. Straight away to my laptop. "Apa nak masak for buka hari nie eh". Hence I start my surfing adventure. Kepo2 at Mak Lang's Blog and Kak Hanie Liza fotopages to look out for ideas and recipies. Instead of finding one, it made my stomache growling..heh..ishk

Im Craving

Just woke up from a deep sleep after taking my pain killers. These medicines really force me to sleep like a pig. Errr..have you ever seen a pig sleeps in the afternoon? Ermm..err..ok. The moment I woke up, I craved for something sweet. I would love to have apple crumble or apple pie. Im drooling...My stomach is growling. Gonna get something to eat.
Huaarrgghh...Im still sleepy. Better freshen up myself. Hubby is coming back any moment.

My Wisdom Tooth

I had my wisdom tooth extracted last Wednesday. ALL FOUR!! at once. I was put under general Anaesthesia (put to sleep) and went for an operation. Was a little bit nervous but excited that morning. Hubby was feeling nervous than me. I was cheerful and jumpy as usual and he went.."Hishh..selawat banyak2..lompat2 mcm budak2"..Well that's me, nothing can change that.

Once we reached Alexandra Hospital, we went straight to Ward 1 - Day Ward. Did the registration and changed into the hospital not-so-glamour kimono. Then the staff nurse lead us to the Operating Theatre. Say goodbye to Hubby and went in.
Waited for about 5 mins, a nurse came and asked my name, IC No., when was my last meal, did i take anything that morning, make sure not even a sip of water and bla..bla..bla and she left. A few mins later, another nurse came and asked me exactly the same questions. And I unwillingly answered all the questions and she left. 5 mins later the doctor came and again asked practically THE SAME QUESTIONS! I was asking myself, whats happening?? Well maybe its a routine question that they need to ask and hope no more questions will be asked.

Then came another doctor, took my hands and tied my wrist with a band in order to insert a small needle into my veins. He couldn't find my veins! He began to slap, slap, slap my hand to get that vein appear and finally he did it and went off. Then a nurse came and brought me in with her arm holding my back. I wondered why? Im not going to fell off.

I went into the operating theatre. Saw the bed, the apparatus, just like we saw on tv. I was asked to lie down on the green bed and to take note at the clock hanging on the wall in front of me. It was 9.30am and I...errr..ermm..dizzz..zzzz..felt dizzy and saw the doctor putting the mask on me and there it goes...i dozed off.

Had a good sleep and dreamt of something but couldn't remember I was awoken by a voice. "The operation is over, can you please pull this tube?" I was in a dizzy state, half awake trying to pull the tube from my nose. Oh gosh, its a long tube that goes in from my nose to the throat to suck the blood and mucus from my throat. And I started coughing.

Then I was moved out of the O.T and to the observation room for a moment. Not so much pain and was trying very hard to opened my eyes. I was like on an on and off mode. Then was pushed to the Day Ward where Hubby was waiting. I heard the Nurse told Hubby that Im still in a dizzy state. "Dont wake her up". Yes I hate to be awoken up. Make sure he doesnt woke me up.

Hubby came beside me and looked and CRIED!..Im so touched. Hehe..i turned and sempat say.."Aper daaah..Emo" and I went back to sleep. No pain, I would say until a nurse came to change the gauze. Gave me an icy water to gargle. That's when the tinge came. The pain was really unbearable. I was asked to take a deep breath 5x and it works.

Dozed off a lil bit here and there and at 1 pm I was allowed to discharged. I just hope to stay there until 5 pm. Hehe. Got changed and got home. The services given at Alexandra Hospital was really a thumbs up. Friends, those who wants to extract your tooth, I wld recommend you to this hospital. Their services is really excellent! Five Stars!
And yess!! I am still on my Medical Leave. Im Loving it!
